The Parish of Denmark supports its community through ministry, pastoral care and two churches:
- Saint Leonard (Strickland Street, Denmark).
- Saint George (Vista Street, Walpole).
Currently the position of Parish Priest is vacant
and the Diocese is seeking a suitable person to commission to this
position. In the meantime the Bishop has appointed The Revd Kevin
Callegari as locum tenens priest (at least until Easter 2010).
We are part of the world wide Anglican
community and we believe:
- God is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit within a unity.
- The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments "contain all things necessary to salvation".*
- The Apostles' Creed, affirmed at Baptism; and the Nicene Creed, as the sufficient statement of the Christian Faith.*
- The two Sacraments ordained by Christ Himself — Baptism and Holy Communion.*
- The Historic Episcopate. *
- God's gifts include the ability to think and to choose, with guidance of the Holy Spirit.
*:As agreed at the Lambeth Conference 1888
(the "Lambeth Quadrilateral") and reaffirmed at Lambeth
in 1988.
